Premiere: Elusive duo Flat Earth Mafia turn in chopped up rap edit 'Do It'
With their tongue-in-cheek name, you could accuse production duo Flat Earth Mafia of not taking things seriously. But with the proliferation of conspiracy theories right now, it feels like an appropriate time to be flaunting such a moniker.
With their identities more or less under wraps, the pair state that they have DJed at Printworks, E1, Studio 338, The Garden Tisno, Barbarellas and Motion Bristol. That’s as well as producing or DJing alongside the likes of Camelphat, Marshmello, Avicii, Andy C, Koan Sound, Jaguar Skills, Caspa, High Contrast and General Levy – a pretty diverse bunch, you might think – while more recently cropping up on Capeface’s show on Soho Radio.
Known for their sweltering booty club edits of the likes of Justin Bieber and MK, reworks like ‘Cloob‘ and ‘Baby‘ are done with a sense of humour while begging for club play. ‘Do It’, which we’re premiering below, adds some bounce to a well-known rap cut, and here’s hoping we’ll get to hear it on a proper system soon.
