Sabah Kenway revitalises the early 2000's R&B vibe with her debut EP 'The One'

After months of anticipation, North West London singer-songwriter Sabah Kenway has delivered her debut EP ‘The One’.

The 6-track body of work follows the release of title track ‘The One’, her summer anthem ‘Feelin Me’ and October’s Y2K heater ‘End of The Line’, further carving out the artist’s nostalgic yet fresh sound while showing listeners what they can expect from her going forward.

As well as the singles released in the roll-out for the project, the EP introduces 3 previously unheard cuts, ‘Delusional’, ‘Fool for Loving You’ and ‘Never Knew’.

The project as a whole has a clear mid-to-late 90’s and early 2000’s R&B vibe with tracks such as ‘The One’ and ‘Delusional’ taking inspiration from the likes of Destiny’s Child and TLC. Kenway’s Arabic and Middle Eastern influences shine through on tracks like ‘Feelin Me’ and ‘End 0f The Line’, where the artist hones her unique melting pot of sounds and cultures to create her very own distinct style.

The EP finishes off with ‘Never Knew’, a light hearted ballad inspired by the works of artists such as Monica and Mariah Carey while paying homage to Sabah’s earlier, more mellow material such as ‘Over’ and ‘Rain of July’.
