D33J - Park (Tape Version)

Although he’s been associated with the Wedidit crew for some time, the 22 year-old producer D33J is just about to have his first release – the Tide Songs EP – put out on Anticon. Here’s the cassette release take on Park, which, just as the name implies, sounds like stepping out into the glow of midday sunshine. A similar sense of immersion – from first exposure to full-on sun worship – is what D33J nails here: that first trudging beat and hazy keyboards are gradually swathed in shimmering synth and the comforting sounds of crashing waves.
