Behind the Scenes of the 'What's Wrong' Music Video With Capo Lee and Pa Salieu
Capo Lee has never been an MC who stays in one lane, and ‘What’s Wrong?’ is another sharp turn. Over simmering, off-kilter production, with nimble Afro rhythms and grumbling bass, the North London rapper looks back at the precarious street life he was caught up in before music, while Coventry’s Pa Salieu arrives with a guest verse that raises the stakes and goes off like a lit fuse.
"I think this tune is an example of how much I enjoy experimenting with music and sound, I love pushing my boundaries and trying new things especially with collaborations. I’ve always wanted to work with Pa and this seemed like the perfect song it all happened organically," Capo Lee explains.
A track this tense was always going to need a video to match. "I wanted the video to be a level up to anything visually I’ve done, and have a fresh look, the song is quite a stylish song so wanted the visuals and colours to match," Capo told us.
Creative director Reece Selvadorai said, "For me, this visual was about introducing audiences to Capo’s world and setting the tone for Inner City Dilemmas. I wanted to balance clean, editorial imagery with raw, high-energy performances, creating something polished but rooted in the grit and authenticity of inner-city life. With Afro-swing influences running throughout, the visual brings together rhythm, culture and attitude, giving Capo the space to establish his identity while Pa Salieu adds another layer of energy. Ultimately, my aim was to create more than just a music video.”
