South London artist BINA. is entering a new chapter with ‘The Art of Anger’, a simmering new single that sees her embracing the tougher emotions we’re often taught to bury.
Instead of framing anger as something destructive, BINA. treats it as a necessary release - a way of processing difficult feelings to make space so peace and softness can follow.
Produced by Subculture, the track builds on the ‘Soft Rage’ philosophy that has followed BINA. since her previous project 'Chaos Is Her Name', fusing grungy punk textures, expansive instrumentation and raw, unfiltered vocals. Rather than viewing anger as something destructive, ‘The Art of Anger’ reframes it as a necessary form of release - a way of making space for softness, peace and self-understanding.
“I made this song to bookmark the time I spent getting to know and get comfortable with anger that’s lived deep within me for a while but has been suppressed for many years and many reasons. This song is like a condensed version of that process,” BINA. shares.
The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Niya Dre. Filmed mostly using a body-mounted camera, the video follows BINA. and friends on a journey through South London, seen at a house party, local shop and basketball courts. The visuals capture snapshots of laughter and joy as well as moments of disassociation, anxiety and frustration.
