Dummy Mix 337 // The Heatwave

Once described by Dummy as "London's finest selectors", longstanding dancehall duo Gabriel and Benjamin earned their stripes the old-fashioned way by flyposting the streets of east London to promote their events, flyering outside Stratford Rex's notorious dancehall parties, selling boxes of 7" vinyl releases over the counters of reggae record shops across London, and holding down the first and only dancehall radio show to grace the Rinse FM airwaves, back when it was a pirate station in Bow.

As the pair's popularity spread, they branched out to BBC 1Xtra and have since cemented themselves as steadfast figureheads in the UK's (now very popping) dancehall and bashment scene. From freshers nights to solid selections that'll please any die hard dancehall aficionado, their Hot Wuk parties has seem them bring the carnival flavour to clubs across the country, as well as numerous festival appearances around the globe.

Gearing up for an appearance at Cirque du Soul's first festival, El Dorado, the boys put together a quick-fire mix that'll have you reaching for a rum and coke regardless of what time it is. Ranging from tracks from Vybz Kartel through to The Heatwave's extra special refix of Bieber's Sorry, it's essential summer listening whether you're walking down the street in the rain or dancing in your living room.

"This is a sample of what we will be playing at festivals this summer – some of them are big in Jamaica at the moment, and some our own personal favourites. All of the songs in this mix are turning over our Hot Wuk party. Bruk Off Your Back is a tune to watch for carnival this year. We put this mix it together as a taster for El Dorado Festival – its going to be a vibe! We are bringing the full Hot Wuk set up and taking over a stage for a night. Pure bashment and dancehall, plus wining and grinding in the sunshine."
