London production duo Bon and Brighton-based audio-visual artist Akiko Haruna dropped their collaborative EP ‘First Sight’ earlier in August. The project, along with both acts’ approach towards music, is deeply rooted in experimentalism and an appreciation for otherworldly sonic narratives. As well as coming together to create a project that soundtracks future soundscapes and scenarios in both sci-fi utopias and dystopias, Bon and Haruna have also joined forces to helm the latest Dummy Mix is our series.
Speaking about the ambient new mix, they told us: “We got together and explored songs and sounds that have influenced and inspired us. We wanted to balance the cinematic ambience alongside the industrial atmospheric sounds that soundtrack sci-fi. Happy to include some amazing artists that we think are creating a new space in the cinematic ambient and experimental electronic scenes. There are tracks from Holland Andrews, Ulla Straus, Loraine James, Hatis Noit and Space Afrika. The newest track is Aug 2022 and the oldest 1982!”
