Azadi.mp3 articulates end-of-summer angst on 'Summer In The Crypt'
Operating at the intersections of her musical and cultural backgrounds, Azadi.mp3 combines sparse UK sound sensibilities with sensual R&B and gothic melodrama in her ambient and explorative productions.
The London-based producer and singer (who recently performed at our ‘NEXT HYPE’ party) has released her conceptual debut EP ‘Summer In The Crypt’. The three-track project revolves around the character of a vampire king, setting out to refigure end-of-summer angst into a modern day fairytale.
“[The EP] exists in the chaos of an immortal summer. The vampire king embodies excess; suspended forever in the hedonism of summer, always running from an autumn that will never come,” she says.
Coinciding with the release of the project, a music video combining elements of all three songs also dropped. The textured visuals amalgamate the varying concepts and aesthetics present on the EP and sees Azadi.mp3 personifying the pleasure-seeking vampire.
