Casper The Ghost's dreamy new single 'Won't You Stay?' explores longing and loneliness
22-year-old songstress Casper The Ghost returns with her first single since 2021, 'Won't You Stay?'.
Operating between Brighton and London, the up-and-coming talent is a fittingly reclusive character, taking influence from lo-fi hip hop, trip hop, R&B and ambient electronic music to compile her rich sonic landscapes.
Written during lockdown; new release 'Won’t you Stay?' tells an emotional, intimate story of longing and loneliness, spotlighting Casper's haunting vocals atop layers of modulated guitar chords, organic ambient textures and subtly chopped and screwed samples.
Pulling inspiration from some of the greats like Portishead and Cocteau Twins, Casper’s music also mines the stylistic edges of contemporary artists such as Bel Cobain, IAMDDB and Spooky Black. Now 3 years into her music journey, Casper The Ghost is embarking on her most exciting chapter yet.
