David GotSound is back with 'Calm Before the Storm'

".... a young Black man trying to fulfil his dreams in London, whilst also navigating the rest of life at the same time..."

Rising rapper from Southeast London’s Bexley, David GotSound, has just released euphonious new single ‘Calm Before the Storm’. Despite receiving his musical education and maturation by way of grime (something that has heavily influenced his songwriting) David GotSound has paired up with producer Pyro K, his long-time collaborator and close friend, to construct a beat laden with trap percussion and slick keys.

The new single, ‘Calm Before the Storm’ is suggestive of David GotSound’s bright future, reciting lyrical content based around his approach to toxic people, his work ethic, and even his favourite trainer, the Jordan 4. It is the first new music since his seven-track project ‘The Mountains’, and is the first preview of what to expect from his upcoming EP, ‘Greatness Isn’t Given’. David GotSound raps with urgency and importance, bringing a UK feel to the jazzy hip hop beats that his vocals often appear on.

“As a young Black man trying to fulfil his dreams in London, whilst also navigating the rest of life at the same time,” the new EP will be a manifestation of his unbridled ambition, explains the rapper.

‘Calm Before the Storm’ is out now on Warble via DMY.
