Farrah gets her year underway with velvety pop anthem 'Freewheeling'

"I hope that people who listen to this song feel empowered enough to realise they are more than enough..."

For her first release of 2022, British-Iranian singer-songwriter, Farrah, draws on a past relationship for her hypnotic new single ‘Freewheeling’.

The rising songstress closed off last year with the arrival of her debut EP ‘Night Light’, an ambitious project taking inspiration from her heritage and establishing the foundations for her continued success in the months ahead. Once again making use of the raw and vulnerable lyrics that coursed previous singles ‘Glow’ and ‘Finish Line’, her latest offering peruses ’00s-inspired drum patterns and other worldly synths to lend her soul-bearing pen game an even deeper level of authenticity.

Delving into the story behind the track, Farrah explains: “‘Freewheeling’ was a form of closure for myself after a long-term relationship ended. It describes that feeling of confusion when someone isn’t sure about you – wondering if you should respect yourself and walk away or wait around for answers. I found the latter only damaged my self-esteem and prolonged the pain. I hope that people who listen to this song feel empowered enough to realise they are more than enough on their own and don’t need to settle for someone who is unsure because someone else will see and deserve your true value.”

Back in December, Farrah took to the stage for her debut headline show after selling out the capacity in a matter of days. With more releases yet to come, there is no doubt the singer-songwriter is on an upward trajectory into the rest of 2022.
