GILSKA Takes Back Desire On ‘Hand On My Body’
GILSKA has released ‘Hand On My Body’, a sultry, hook-heavy electronic-pop single that puts women’s pleasure front and centre.
The track was born out of a post-breakup trip through dating apps. Fresh out of a four-year relationship, she went looking for something simple, only to run into mixed signals and breadcrumbing. That frustration becomes a demand for clarity, honesty and physical autonomy, and a refusal to shrink her desires to suit anyone else.
It also carries a cultural weight. “For so long, men have been encouraged to embrace their sexuality, while women have been made to feel ashamed for wanting the same,” she says, adding that the conversation is still rarely had within South Asian culture. Her aim is to remind women they can ask for what they want without guilt.
Sonically, it sits in a darker, club-focused corner of pop, with nods to slayyyter, adela and Charli XCX, balancing a late-night atmosphere with an immediate pull.
The single follows a strong 2026 for GILSKA, which included a set on the BBC Introducing Stage at The Great Escape and a BBC Radio 1 live session.
‘Hand On My Body’ is out now.
