Harlequiin Teams Up With NYM For 'I Bet The Dealer Has Deleted Me'

Atmospheric electronics meet introspective neo-soul in this intriguing new single.

London-based artist and producer Harlequiin (aka Rory Simmons) returns with a captivating new single, 'I Bet The Dealer Has Deleted Me,' featuring the smoky, hypnotic vocals of rising star NYM.

A slow-burning, intricately woven track, the single fuses Harlequiin’s signature experimental electronica with the fluid jazz-influenced musicianship that has defined Simmons’ celebrated career.

With an impressive résumé that includes touring and recording with Jamie Cullum, Blur, RAYE, Paolo Nutini, and Labrinth, Simmons brings a refined musicality to Harlequiin's off-kilter pop world. The new single continues the sonic explorations found on his album 'Even As She Spoke, She Began To Lose Her Form' and recent single 'Hand That Move You.'

Built around lo-fi percussion, woozy analogue synths, and a brooding electronic palette, 'I Bet The Dealer Has Deleted Me' unfolds like a dream. NYM, an in-demand vocalist known for touring with Florence + The Machine, Muse, Elbow, and Paloma Faith, delivers a tender yet commanding performance, lending emotional weight to a song she describes as “an internal monologue about ending self-destructive tendencies.”

Rory adds, “We spent four years revisiting this track, only to realise the raw, simple version was the truest. We wanted it to feel like a trippy little vignette with brooding energy.”

With its understated complexity and emotional depth, 'I Bet The Dealer Has Deleted Me' is a stunning example of Harlequiin’s evolving artistry and bold vision - cementing his place as one of the most intriguing voices in alternative electronic music today.

'I Bet The Dealer Has Deleted Me' is out now.
