Ivohé and Longtime Collaborator Youf are Back on New Single 'Sin City'
Known for blending UK Club culture with Latin rhythms, German-Venezuelan artist Ivohé has once again linked up with key collaborator Youf on new single 'Sin City'.
Ivohé's angelic R&B-infused vocals float over the top of bass-led UK garage beats and 80s-inspired synth lines on the new track, as she sings in bilingual Spanish and English.
'Sin City' examines the double edged sword of cosmopolitan living, the glittering lights embedded with late-stage capitalism, offering all of life's materialistic desires, yet love remains elusive.
Once again, Ivohé has showcased her ability to explore through song some of the deepest struggles within identity and belonging, appealing to a feeling that many of the Latin diaspora experience around the world.
Speaking on the meaning behind the single, Ivohé said: "Am I always going to feel this empty, no matter where I am or am I just in the wrong place? I’ve lived in big cities that feel like a Sin City all my life and though I’ve found pockets of joy in these places I often find myself feeling isolated from the world, despite all the people and activities a place like that has to offer."
