Josh Baker Drops Four-Track Club EP, 'Breaking Point'

The release arrives amid a year of international ascension for the electronic artist.

Following a rapid-fire week of announcements, Josh Baker’s EP ‘Breaking Point’ has officially dropped today. Released via YOU&ME, the project comprises a total of four energy-laden tracks directly capturing the scope of his sonic work – from deep house to speed garage.

The DJ and producer knows how to keep the clubbing community on its feet. The flash rollout kicked off on Monday when Baker teased snippets of each track on Instagram to announce the EP, closely followed by a tour reveal for his North American dates in November.

Serving as his first full project release since late last year, ‘Breaking Point’ sees Baker join forces with a number of vocal collaborators to deliver a range of peak-time tunes.

Alongside the title track ‘Breaking Point’ – a much-awaited locked-in groove that has become a staple in his recent DJ sets – the remaining cuts unveil collaborators such as London-based artist LEILAH, whose layered, dreamy vocals can be heard on ‘Over You’, and Anabel Englund, with whom Baker builds a deep, underground-infused energy on ‘Your Star’.

‘House With Acres’ features bars by Capo Lee on a production nodding to UK garage and speed garage – the ID has been circulating for over a year, and its placement on the EP has generated strong excitement in Baker’s community.

With the release of ‘Breaking Point’, the electronic artist keeps building on a monumental year – a fast-paced run extending from playing Coachella and hosting a first-time YOU&ME Ibiza residency at Amnesia over the summer to gearing up to headline both Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend.

In October, the Manchester native is set to make history by bringing his YOU&ME brand home to The Warehouse Project for two consecutive nights, ahead of the upcoming North American tour.

'Breaking Point' is out now via YOU&ME.
