Josh Baker Drops New Rave Anthem 'Souvenir' with rhys from the sticks
Josh Baker has released 'Souvenir' featuring rhys from the sticks, via Bakers Dozen / Three Six Zero - capping off what's arguably the biggest week of his career to date.
Teased in clubs and on festival stages for over six months, 'Souvenir' has already become a defining ID in Baker's catalogue, soundtracking his sets at Reading & Leeds and Creamfields this summer. Built around Baker's shimmering house production and a raw, unmistakably British vocal hook from rhys (Rhys Kirkby-Cox, formerly of Everyone You Know), the track pulls in punk, post-punk and Madchester influences, landing lines like "burn marks on my hoodie, from your cigarette" over widescreen dancefloor production. It's a collaboration that feels as at home in a warehouse as it does closing out the summer.
The release arrives alongside a run of major milestones: Baker's first-ever B3B with Prospa and KETTAMA, a sold-out two-night takeover of Manchester's Warehouse Project, and the close of his acclaimed YOU&ME residency at Amnesia Ibiza, filmed for a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
With Gashouder at ADE, FLY Halloween in Glasgow and a seven-date North American tour still to come this year, 'Souvenir' has the potential to be a recurring feature in Baker's sets.
'Souvenir' is out now via Bakers Dozen / Three Six Zero.
