Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith Is Back With New Single 'GTP!' Ahead of Upcoming Album

Experimental composer continues her bold rhythmic reinvention.

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith has unveiled 'GTP!', the second single from her forthcoming album 'Ruin: It's Not Just Music', offering another glimpse into one of her most rhythmically adventurous projects to date.

Known for continually redefining the possibilities of electronic music, Smith ventures further into the worlds of breakbeat, jungle and drum & bass on 'GTP!'. The intricate new track pairs rapid-fire percussion and intricate synthesiser work with her unmistakable vocals, capturing the relentless pace and sensory overload of modern life while maintaining the composer's signature emotional depth.

Describing the song as a "sonic forcefield", Smith says 'GTP!' reflects the constant pressure to decode an increasingly complex world, exploring themes of hyper-awareness, digital culture and the invisible systems that shape contemporary existence.

The single follows Smith's acclaimed live performance of 'Ruin: It's Not Just Music' alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra at London's Barbican Centre earlier this year, where audiences were introduced to the album's more confrontational, rhythm-driven direction.

Set for release in October, 'Ruin: It's Not Just Music' marks a striking new chapter for Smith, built around ideas of collapse, transformation and resilience. Expanding beyond genre conventions while retaining her distinctive compositional voice, the album will demonstrate Smith's inventive character once again.

'GTP!' is out now via SOMEONE SPECIAL.
