MALUM Kick Off Remix Series With Prins Thomas

A 10-minute cosmic journey reworking 'mr sunset'.

MALUM are launching a remix trilogy, and they're starting with a cosmic rework of ‘mr. sunset’ by Norwegian space-disco pioneer Prins Thomas.

The remix is the first instalment of a series revisiting tracks from the band's debut album 'every body' through the ears of artists who have influenced them over the years, alongside newer discoveries from across the electronic underground.

A longtime inspiration for MALUM, Prins Thomas stretches ‘mr. sunset’ into an extended disco journey, retaining the melodic and cinematic qualities of the original while giving it plenty of room to breathe. The remix forms part of 'The Sunset EP', which also features the album tracks ‘release’ and ‘rewild’.

Two further remixes will follow later this month, expanding the project into very different corners of MALUM's musical world. 'The Mission EP' will feature Bergen-born, Berlin-based producer Telephones, who takes on ‘the mission’ with two contrasting remixes, alongside a version from MALUM's own AMØBE.

The final instalment, 'The Bouncer EP', heads into heavier territory, with London producer and Perc Trax founder Perc transforming ‘bouncer’ into an industrial techno workout, while Hong Kong's Mr. Ho reworks ‘jeweltrain’ into a percussive, hypnotic club track.

Together, the three releases will connect 'every body' with artists and scenes spanning Bergen, Oslo, London, Berlin and Hong Kong, offering a series of fresh perspectives on MALUM's debut.

'mr sunset (Prins Thomas Remix)' is out now via Tellé Records.
