ModR Begins Year-Long Musical Marathon With 'Put Em Up'

The producer kicks off his ambitious 2025 release schedule with a no-nonsense garage tune.

In an era where artists meticulously craft album rollouts and strategise every drop, ModR is taking a different approach. The UK producer, known for his fluid movement across electronic genres, has announced an ambitious plan for 2025: a new single every month, straight from his extensive vault. First in line is 'Put Em Up', a stripped-back garage roller that sets the tone for what promises to be a year of unfiltered musical exploration.

Driven by ModR’s signature rhythmic precision, track opens with a weighty bassline and a rolling groove, keeping things minimal yet infectious. At its heart is an unmistakable vocal sample—the rallying cry of the cowardly lion—looped and manipulated to bring a touch of playfulness to the otherwise tight, club-ready production.

A veteran of the underground electronic scene, ModR has released music on labels like Hardcore Energy, Gimme a Break, and Livery Street Social Club. His back catalogue spans everything from high-energy 160 BPM electro to laid-back house grooves, all tied together by his deep-rooted understanding of rhythm. A trained classical percussionist and drummer, ModR has spent the past 15 years dissecting beats, layering intricate break patterns, and finding connections between disparate musical cultures.

“I’ve been making tracks for years but never felt the need to rush them out,” he says. “This year, I decided it was time to finally get them out. I’ve always jumped between styles, and rather than overthink it, I just want to put the music out there and see where it lands."

'Put Em Ep' is out now.
