purpl's sultry new R&B single 'why'd u ghost me?' places the music industry under the microscope
After teasing her new single at The halley x DMY Live Sessions show last week, rising UK alternative-pop artist purpl has released her dance floor-ready anthem ‘why’d u ghost me?’.
The new track marks the singer’s third offering in a matter of months, following up singles ‘Morphine’ and ‘Tell All Your Friends’ with an upbeat and relatable cut perfect for a party setting.
Speaking about the track, purpl says: “I think everyone has been ghosted before, and in my case it was in the music industry. It can be a really disheartening and flakey place filled with false promises, but luckily in this case it really inspired me. This is a song for anyone who’s been ghosted and felt like a loser – you’re not the loser, they are.”
Her first live performance of the song went down a treat at the recent DMY show. Donning her trademark colour alongside her guitarist and drummer, purpl closed off her gig with the sultry slice of R&B-infused pop.
