SexyTadhg Unleashes Debut EP ‘Sexy’: A Fierce, Queer Celebration of Joy and Resistance
Ireland’s most fearless new voice, SexyTadhg (pronounced Sexy-Tie-g), is ready to take over. The Dublin-born artist has dropped their debut EP 'SEXY' today, following a whirlwind year.
A genre-bending five-track release, 'SEXY' is equal parts intimate confession and explosive call-to-arms. SexyTadhg’s world is lush and orchestral - brass, strings, and bold production conjure a carnival of sound that mirrors the vibrancy and complexity of queer life. Euphoric anthems like 'Claim My Love' and the bilingual 'Ceannasacht' radiate joy and empowerment, while the powerful 'My Parade' and 'Ride the Wave' confront resilience, mental health, and the necessity of speaking out against injustice.
“This EP is my armour,” Tadhg explains. “'Sexy' is an introduction to the persona, the drag, the power that allows me to own a stage. These songs are moments of self-discovery that have strengthened me as a person and now lay the groundwork for my future.”
The release captures the electricity of SexyTadhg’s live shows, which have seen them play everything from Dublin’s Fairview Park supporting The Mary Wallopers to Ireland’s biggest festivals, including Electric Picnic and Beyond the Pale. They’ve also brought their vision to national TV screens with appearances on The Six O’Clock Show and Síorstíl, as well as a collaboration with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
With headline shows lined up in London, Cork, and Dublin, plus major summer festival slots, SexyTadhg is cementing their place as one of Ireland’s most vital new voices. Their commitment to queer visibility, the Irish language, and radical joy make 'SEXY' more than just an EP; it’s a manifesto.
