Continuing what has been a pace-setting year so far for the rising artist, dream pop mainstay Swiss Portrait unveils his brand new six-track EP ‘Safe House’.

Living in rural Midlothian, Michael Kay Terence maintains a strictly DIY approach to his craft, recording, playing, mixing and producing everything himself.

Terence’s 2022 output started back in February with the release of ‘Paralyzed’, a reverb-drenched indie cut offering an insight into his mind and artistic vision. Complete with a hazy lo-fi video recorded on a VHS camera, the first offering from the new project was followed up shortly after with ‘Play With Fire’, featuring New York-based dream pop band Phantom Handshakes.

On top of the pair of singles released earlier in the year, the new 6-track EP offers up 4 previously unheard gems, ‘Wasted’, ‘Lazy’ and ‘Freak’, as well as the closing title-track ‘Safe House’. The project highlights the delicate intimacy of the Scottish multi-instrumentalist’s music as well as his versatility within the genre, setting him up for a successful second half of the year.

Swiss Portrait is performing in London with bedroom pop duo Marsupial Soup at The Workshop at Roadtrip Bar on June 7. Tickets can be purchased here.
