Tim Palm’s ‘New Person’ Is About the Transformative Power of New Connections
Swedish electronic artist Tim Palm has just dropped his latest single, 'New Person,' a chill dance deep house track that offers a glimpse into his forthcoming album, 'The Unknown Sea,' set for release on 6th September.
Palm is known for his ability to rejuvenate the fundamentals of the house subculture, creating interactive musical experiences that resonate with listeners who often feel out of place.
The creation of 'New Person' was an organic process, evolving through a series of live sets, jams, and studio sessions aimed at capturing the spontaneity and creativity of the moment. The track was recorded in diverse locations, including Palm's private studio, Fashionpolice Studios in Stockholm, and even over Zoom, embodying a distinctly human touch in its production.
Speaking about "New Person," Tim Palm explains, "I believe that every person you meet changes you in some way. With some people, the changes are barely noticeable, but some people can make you almost become a new person – sometimes in a great way, sometimes not, and in what way can be very hard to tell. The vocal is from an early song that didn’t make the album because it didn’t feel right until one day when we recorded a conversation for background ambiance and got the ‘I’m a new person’ that made everything click. I chopped up the vocal to create these new sentences and the production translates the concept into a song."
'New Person' is out now.
