VRGF Drops Hyperpop Single 'Keep Your Information Close To Your Heart'
Experimental pop artist VRGF explores the experience of intimacy constructed through online conversations on their latest track, 'Keep Your Information Close To Your Heart'.
A very modern story representative of relationships built and maintained in today's increasingly digital world, VRGF new track may seem at first listen to be a love song, or a sweet promise from one friend to another, yet the real meaning is much more dark and subversive.
"It probably isn't obvious but I wrote the song from the perspective of a digital being working for big data," VRGF explains. "They stalk and then seduce people into telling their deepest secrets! It's kind of absurd how much of our existence becomes data, so I guess it's a coping mechanism - to make light of it."
VRGF's leftfield sound has previously drawn comparisons to hyperpop greats like SOPHIE, ARCA, and Charli XCX, as they traverse the realms of experimental pop, D&B, and UK Bass.
As well as their ability to craft intricate stories, VRGF is a proudly multidisciplinary artist who takes a DIY approach to their music, handling production, vocals, and visuals as well as songwriting.
Online, VRGF has been building a lore-filled world for their growing fan base, sharing dystopian, video-game style posts that gear towards accepting "missions". With 'Keep Your Information Close To Your Heart,' they venture further into the expanse, and we're all invited.
'Keep Your Information Close To Your Heart' is out now.
