Blood Diamonds - Barcode (feat. Dominic Lord)

The LA-based producer links up with the ex-A$AP Mob man for a colour-splattered club beat.

The sugar-sweet sounds of Blood Diamonds have already made quite the impression with us at Dummy – we premiered the hands-in-the-air abandon of Rituals last September. For his latest one, Blood Diamonds, real name Mike Diamond, calls on the services of rapper Dominic Lord, an early A$AP Mob associate who has since gone it alone, putting out the HudMo-produced Pierce last year.

Unsurprisingly, the presence of Lord has Blood Diamonds settle for a more hip-hop-infused beat: but it’s still got familiar lashings of trance-pop colour, building itself around a twinkling vibraphone that reemerges throughout. Barcode will be released on Skrillex’s OWSLA label, who Diamond recently toured Canada with. And on a close listening, it wouldn’t take all that much to hear echoes of the ubiquitous producer in Barcode’s heftier, club-conscious sound. Stream it below.

OWSLA will release _Barcode on February 26th
