Boomtown Reveals BICEP And Noisia As First Closers For 2027
Boomtown has begun to reveal its 2027 plans, and the first two names on the bill are big ones. BICEP will close the Lion’s Den, while Noisia will bring the curtain down on HYDRO XL, as the festival heads into its next chapter, ‘Wild Style’, at Matterley Estate in Hampshire from 11th to 15th August.
For BICEP, it’s a booking years in the making. The Belfast-born duo have recently returned with new music ahead of ‘Slug’, their first album in five years, due in January. “After years of trying to make it work,” they say, they’re finally bringing the live show to Boomtown.
Noisia’s return carries more weight. The Dutch trio recently announced a surprise reunion, four years after a farewell tour that ended on Boomtown’s Origin stage in 2022. Noisia member Thijs recalls looking out at 35,000 people in the bowl that night and thinking it should have been all three of them up there. Now it will be, with the group taking over the hydrogen-powered HYDRO XL for a closing set.
The festival is also lining up changes beyond the music. Work is under way on a major reimagining of Anara Forest, the woodland space known for its 360° audio-visual journey between the trees. A new project called The Transportal will link Downtown in the bowl with Copperwood Heights and Thrutopia on the hilltop, turning the trip up Hippy Highway into an experience of its own.
It follows a strong 2026, when the 17th edition spread back across the Hampshire hills and valleys with six districts, 12 main stages and more than 50 hidden venues. Tickets sold out in record time, and Boomtown leads this year’s UK Festival Awards shortlist, with nominations including Large Festival of the Year and The Green Award.
The Phase 1 line-up lands on Thursday 26th November.
Boomtown Chapter 6: WILD STYLE takes place from 11th - 15th August 2027. Tickets are on sale now at www.boomtownfair.co.uk
