Premiere: Cheatahs - Signs To Lorelei

A noise-pop climax of emphatic drums and barbed guitar riffs from Cheatahs.

Signs to Lorelei began with a synth melody that Marc (our drummer) created, around which the rest of us composed our parts. It came together remarkably quickly. Essentially a bedroom recording, it has a hopeful quality to it which I really like, and is one of a couple of gentle moments on the album. It's one of my favorites,” bassist Dean Reid explains on Cheatahs’ brand new track, taken from the band’s forthcoming second album – 'Mythologies' – released through Witchita next month.

Fresh from the success of the recently revealed Seven Sisters, Signs To Lorelei – like the rest of the album – marks a slight departure from the visceral shoegaze sound that we’d began to expect from the band, following their arresting eponymous debut, which was released last year. Instead, the result is a lot more electronic and, in some ways, more experimental. Initiating with layers of haunting synths, Signs To Lorelei features a range of insouciant vocals that work alongside a gradually building instrumental backdrop before stooping into its noise-pop climax of emphatic drums and barbed guitar riffs.

Signs To Lorelei is available as an instant download when pre-ordering 'Mythologies', out on October 30th (pre-order). You can also check upcoming UK and US tour dates here.
