You can hear the Beautiful Swimmers album now

NPR are hosting a stream of the summery new record from Ari Goldman and Maxmillion Dunbar.

DC duo Beautiful Swimmers, aka Ari Goldman and Maxmillion Dunbar, have been working on records on and off for a good few years now, starting with the fantastic Swimmers Groove / O Yea 12” back in 2009, and today you can listen to their debut album, ‘Son’. Based around slo-mo samples and dubby drumbeats, the album collects a bunch of new songs alongside a few of their older tracks, taken from long since out-of-print records.

It’s sun-kissed and very, very summery in its vibe. If you want a better summation of its sound, peep the album artwork – a happy looking bear wearing sunglasses and a cap and smiling is about as good a visual representation as you’re likely to see.

To hear the album, head over to NPR right now. You can also read our interview with Maxmillion Dunbar from earlier this year here.
