girl_irl's New Mixtape '(re)introduction' Spans Hyperpop and Atlanta Rap
Genre-defying artist and producer girl_irl has dropped their mixtape, '(re)introduction'.
The project marks a pivotal moment in girl_irl's evolution, offering a fresh take on their signature industrial pop sound. Fittingly titled, '(re)introduction' serves as a closing chapter in girl_irl's current artistic phase before they embark on a new era.
"'(re) introduction' is a mixtape with the intention of closing an era that began once this project did. The order tells a personal story with the intention of a new era beginning in 2025," girl_irl explains.
Known for their boundary-pushing production and electrifying live performances, girl_irl's '(re)introduction' blends glitched percussion, found sounds, and thunderous basslines to create an intense yet simultaneously introspective experience. Collaborations with Luca Rassi, Franco Reid, Louie Diller, and Gazsia add rich layers to this multifaceted release, pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
Lyrically, the EP grapples with themes of autonomy and generational uncertainty, topics that are sure to resonate with the online generation. Delivered in girl_irl’s deadpan vocal style, the tracks explore empowerment and self-reflection in the face of a rapidly changing world.
