Banditt opens up about the impact of the music industry on mental health on 'Pinot'
Last year was oddly silent for Banditt. The prolific dance artist only put out three songs in 2022. It's a silence that he's finally addressing on his new song 'Pinot,' which explores the implications of the music industry's constant push for more and more content on the lives of the artists themselves.
He's disavowing all of the pressure on the new single, telling DMY, "I took a small hiatus from releasing music last year for a multitude of reasons, including a loss of the love of creating and making music as a side effect of some mental health issues. However, I was still looking for producers to work with during this time and someone introduced me to Clarcq who had the exact sound I was looking for.
"We clicked straight away and the whole creative process was so easy," he continues. "Writing for this release came more naturally to me than anything I've written before and helped reignite my love for creating. It's my favourite piece of work to date and I'm so happy to be going back to my roots making fresh and bouncy UK garage."
The new song comes in a long list of collaborations for the artist, whose discography includes work with Disrupta, Sempra, and many others. That knack for collaboration has pushed him all around the dance music spectrum, ranging from UK garage all the way to house.
'Pinot' definitively proves that even amid all of the constant pressure, true artistry can still shine through and take hold of the narrative once again.
