DJ BORING Lets The Anger Out On ‘Tension’, Second Single From Debut Album ‘Radio Silence’
DJ BORING has shared ‘Tension’, the second single from his debut album ‘Radio Silence’, and it’s a long way from the gentle ache of what came before.
Its predecessor, ‘Illusion’, written with TEED, was a quietly cathartic roller. ‘Tension’ takes the album’s themes of longing, frustration and absence and runs them through something far more abrasive: angular, granite-hard textures that bristle with unease. “It’s full of rage, anger and loud, extreme noises,” he says. It’s the part of the record where he bottled everything up, then finally let it out.
That raw approach suits a deeply personal album, built from his own relationships and experiences. He first revealed ‘Radio Silence’ to a live crowd at an intimate pop-up party at Grind in Shoreditch, the coffee shop where he worked as a barista after moving to London from Melbourne. The full tracklist is still under wraps.
On the road, DJ BORING plays Hocus Pocus in Miami on 30th October and the Vampire Ball in New York the following night. In November he’s at FLY in Glasgow’s Sub Club on the 19th, The Warehouse Project in Manchester for Eat Your Own Ears on the 21st, and The Warehouse in Leeds on the 28th.
'Tension' is out now.
