Empress Of Shares New Single 'SYW' With Cecile Believe

Another cut from upcoming album 'Dream House'.

Empress Of has shared ‘SYW’, a new collaboration with Cecile Believe and the latest preview of her forthcoming album ‘Dream House’, due 18 September.

The track follows the previously released title track and ‘Wild Storm’, offering a more club-focused counterpoint to the latter’s sweeping, string-led production. Built around the phrase ‘say you wanna’, ‘SYW’ gradually gathers momentum before tipping into a euphoric rush, capturing the push and pull of desire, loss and longing.

Cecile Believe, who has worked extensively with Empress Of and is known for her collaborations with SOPHIE, was also involved throughout the making of ‘Dream House’. The record marks the follow-up to 2024’s ‘For Your Consideration’ and takes its emotional cues from a difficult period for the artist, following the destruction of her family home in the Altadena fires.

Across the album, Empress Of explores loss, resilience and the process of rebuilding, balancing intimate songwriting with the expansive electronic sound that has defined her work.
