Grimes drops celestial cut 'So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth'
Grimes continues to steer through the world of avant-garde pop throughout her career, refusing to be defined.
‘So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth’ is the Canadian songwriter’s latest single, and is a slow-burning cut of airy sonics and celestial vocals.
In classic Grimes style, there are two variations of the single – the ‘Art Mix’ lasts six minutes, while the ‘Algorithm Mix’ (in essence a radio edit) is under four.
Self-produced, the 4AD-released single boasts an accompanying visualiser which adds to the otherworldly aesthetic the artist has chosen to pursue.
It follows singles ‘Violence’ and ‘We Appreciate Power’ (with HANA) and is a taste of upcoming fifth studio album ‘Miss_Anthropocene’, due February 2020.
Earlier this year, Grimes was dragged into Elon Musk’s securities fraud case.
