Idris Jones Drops Experimental New Single 'On The Edge'
Hot on the heels of his recent track, 'Need You,' rapper Idris Jones returns with sultry new single, 'On The Edge.'
Not afraid to experiment with his sound, Idris has taken inspiration from old school R&B and electronic flavours to create his latest work, revealing himself as an artist who never shies away from taking the necessary risks in order to evolve.
'On The Edge' dives into themes of intimacy, escapism, and liberation. Distorted vocals open the track as we hear the refrain of Idris begging his lover not to push too hard when he's near to falling. In his rap verse, we hear Idris grappling with the desire to have the one he wants close, but not too close so that he may lose his composure. Over the course of the track, he lays his cards on the table, letting his lover know, "You're the only sure thing/ I ain't gotta force things."
Sonically, the melodic electric guitar and Idris' laid-back delivery juxtapose with the hard-hitting drums, giving the track a summery feel.
