Late Again Shares Wry New Single 'Crazy or Stupid' Ahead of Upcoming EP

Brazilian dream-pop artist pairs sun-soaked melodies with sharp social satire.

Brazilian-born, Brooklyn-based artist Late Again has returned with new single 'Crazy or Stupid', the second preview of forthcoming EP 'I Dreamt I Was Awake', due for release this September.

Written as a tongue-in-cheek reflection on modern life, 'Crazy or Stupid' wraps biting social commentary in breezy dream-pop, blending warm indie textures with Brazilian melodic influences and an infectious summer groove. Rather than delivering a heavy-handed critique, Late Again uses humour and a cast of eccentric characters to explore the contradictions of contemporary society, balancing cynicism with an irresistible melodic hook.

The single continues the sonic world introduced on previous release 'If You Have A Bridge (I'm Buying)', drawing inspiration from bossa nova, Japanese city pop and alternative indie while nodding to artists such as Mac DeMarco, Tame Impala and Men I Trust. Recorded between Brooklyn's Studio G and São Paulo's Evil Twin Studios, the forthcoming EP also features contributions from musicians and collaborators including Thiago Dom and John Lisi.

'I Dreamt I Was Awake' marks Late Again's fourth EP and serves as a stepping stone towards a debut album expected in 2027. Alongside the release, the artist has announced a London headline show at The Social on 6 October, where fans will get an early chance to hear the project's genre-blurring, irony-laced songwriting live.
