Logic1000 and Jam City Drop 'Jersey'

Get your power suit on and turn the volume up.

Logic1000 has shared ‘Jersey’, a new collaboration with Jam City and the latest preview of her forthcoming second album, 'Confirmation!', due 2 October via Therapy/Because Music.

The track finds Logic1000's Samantha Poulter turning up the energy. Built around a driving groove, bright synths and a propulsive rhythm, ‘Jersey’ is a more maximalist side of Logic1000 than we’ve heard in some of her more reflective work.

The track was made with the dancefloor - and the open road - in mind. “This song is meant to be played full volume in a car,” Poulter says, recalling how she and Jam City tested the finished track in a hire car. She also describes it as feeling like “I’m in a power suit in the 80s, headphones on and feeling myself.”

That sense of confidence runs through 'Confirmation!', which follows Logic1000’s debut album 'Mother' and last year’s DJ-Kicks mix. Where 'Mother' explored the upheaval of becoming a parent, her new record is framed around acceptance and self-trust, with Poulter describing the idea of being “confirmed” as feeling aligned with who you are while accepting that you’ll continue to change.

The album expands her club-rooted sound with touches of trip-hop, big beat, ’80s synth-pop, indie songwriting and leftfield electronica. Alongside Jam City, collaborators include Christine and the Queens, FAUZIA, yunè pinku, KUČKA and Tiffi M.

Across the past five years, Logic1000 has established herself as one of electronic music’s more emotionally attuned producers, balancing intimate songwriting with a strong dancefloor instinct. Her music has been championed by Four Tet, Floating Points and Caribou, while she has also remixed artists including Dua Lipa, Shygirl and Don Toliver.

‘Jersey’ offers a glimpse at the brighter, bigger end of 'Confirmation!' — and, if Logic1000 is to be believed, it’s probably best experienced with the volume turned all the way up.
