Ravyn Lenae Joins Joy Crookes For 'Feet Don't Fail Me Now - Part 2'

Joy Crookes has given her career-defining track ‘Feet Don’t Fail Me Now’ a fresh lease of life, enlisting acclaimed US singer-songwriter Ravyn Lenae for a striking new version.

Originally released on Crookes’ acclaimed debut album 'Skin', the track has surged back into the spotlight, now hitting a remarkable 1 million daily streams and passing 315 million total streams worldwide. Its enduring association with football - thanks to its inclusion in FIFA 22 - has also cemented its reputation as an unofficial World Cup anthem.

For Crookes, however, the song’s appeal goes deeper than its infectious momentum. Written around fear, complicity and the pressure to remain silent, she hopes its message can encourage listeners to embrace open dialogue, mistakes and progress.

“It’s written from the perspective of someone who finds it easier to remain complicit out of a fear of being cancelled," Joy explains. "I hope the song encourages people to be a bit braver, whilst the [cancel culture] themes are clear in my head the chorus is universal - ‘man I guess I was scared, feet don’t fail me now, I got to stand my ground and though I’m down for trying, I am better in denial so I hush don’t make a sound’. Open up a dialogue, speak out, make mistakes - that’s okay and that’s how progress happens.”
