sasha B has us questioning everything on 'bitchwho'

The cryptic artist's new song is one of the funniest tracks we've heard all year...

When the press release for sasha B's new song 'bitchwho' hit our inbox, we opened it up to much confusion. Instead of directing us to the typical Word document with professionally shot photos lining the page, our eyes were greeted by a red and yellow photo that looked like it was edited in Microsoft Paint.

In the middle of the page sat a fast food hamburger, and as we scratched our heads wondering what we were looking at, our eyes made their ways down the page to the little bit of text she provided. It read, "sasha B is a piece of shit fresh out of Test Room 3 of Steels Lane Health Centre. Combining 3o's FL Studio excellence with painfully literal lyricism, sh presents you a darkly deep vibe. She's really random and kinda crazy, but she MUST be taken seriously and doesn't want to exceed your expectations anyway ! ! ! ! !"

That's when we knew we had to interview her, below.

Tell us a little bit about how you got started making music.

i went downstairs and saw 3o with a keyboard and FL on the TV, he passed me the mic.

Almost all of your music is produced by 3o. How did you get started working with them?

he is my BFF4L ! ! ! ! and we lived together for a couple years, so tbh we started working together when we started making music.

What did the musical process look like for “bitchwho”?

we always record in 3o’s studio. he said ‘messy hair don’t care’, and i spiralled from there. i normally use my phone for lyrics, but in the case of bitchwho i had all my lyrics written on Pages in fat font, like I put it on 40 or something and had my laptop on the speaker. do i know why? NO!

How would you describe your musical style?

i wouldn’t.

You’re not originally from London. What inspired you to move over here?

uni, lol ! but i went to secondary school in east midlands. can u believe ?

You’re playing the club night MAKE HARDCORE HAPPY AGAIN later this month. How are you preparing for that?

naaah naaaaahhhhh the SEMINAL (every other month or so) EVENT OF THE CENTURY is called Make Hardcore Happy Again and it’s run by Dj GURL POWER. MUCH MUCH LUV TO DJ GURL POWER, he’s amazing. this one was grim reaper fancy dress, and we wore red and yellow capes cuz those are evilFM colours. i was in the Masturbatrix room (aka the dungeon) which was run by the limitless pill, whom i also have an immense amount of love for.

Karl Brinaj, who is Taliable’s producer is an amazing DJ, him and i rehearsed at the hospital cuz we all fester down there. we’re currently working on music together.
