Steve Lacy Announces New Album 'Oh yeah?' and Shares Introspective Lead Single 'the feeling'
Steve Lacy has announced his highly anticipated third studio album, 'Oh yeah?', due for release on 17 July 2026 via RCA Records.
Alongside the announcement, Lacy has unveiled the album’s first single, 'the feeling”' a characteristically sleek and emotionally rich track that blends elements of pop, alternative music and R&B into the genre-fluid sound that has become his trademark. The release arrives with a new music video directed by Matt Castellanos.
Described as his most personal work to date, 'Oh yeah?' documents a four-year creative journey that saw Lacy grappling with feelings of displacement and self-discovery. Taking full control of the album’s production, songwriting and creative direction, the project finds the artist turning inward, exploring questions of identity, belonging and connection through some of his most candid lyrics yet.
Sonically, the album is said to bridge the worlds of guitars and synthesisers, balancing raw vulnerability with adventurous production. The result is an expansive record that embraces contradiction - equal parts comedy and tragedy, intimacy and spectacle.
Still only 28, Lacy has already established himself as one of modern music’s most influential figures, earning two Grammy Awards, multiple billion-streaming tracks and collaborations with artists including Kendrick Lamar and Solange.
With 'Oh yeah?' Lacy looks set to enter a new chapter.
