The Allergies Drop 'Koliko' With K.O.G
Funky beat-makers The Allergies have returned with their first single of 2024.
On 'Koliko', the DJ/production pair have called upon award-winning Afro futurist K.O.G, aka Kweku Of Ghana, a dynamite vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.
Together, the trio have crafted an undeniably catchy track, teeming with classic Afrobeat samples, 60s African rhythms, amplified bass lines, majestic horn arrangements, and their distinctive punchy production. Thematically, the track explores the nuances of what it's like to be treated as a "Koliko" or "Toy".
The new single highlights K.O.G's razor-sharp double-time verses, as well as treating us to layered harmonies and uplifting chorus vocals, seamlessly delivered in both English and his mother tongue. Impressively, K.O.G's vocals were freestyled.
