Bakar announces headline UK and EU tour for new album 'Halo'

"The most present moments in my entire existence happen when I'm on stage..."

Following news of Bakar's highly-anticipated sophomore album 'Halo' last week, the Londoner unveils plans for his upcoming headline tour of UK and Europe.

The British musician will call in Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, London and Manchester during November, with tickets on general sale at 10am on Friday (July 7).

Described as a "sonic counterpart" to his 2018 mixtape 'BADKID', the new LP 'Halo' is scheduled to arrive on September 1 via Black Butter and was teased in June with the single 'Alive!'

The forthcoming album explores the dichotomy Bakar feels between the nomadic loneliness of a life constantly on the road and the “lifestyle” of being a musician - so there's a bitter sense of irony around his plans to tour the new record.

However, despite not liking the touring lifestyle, Bakar explains in a new statement that being on stage makes it all worth it.

"I'll be honest, going on tour isn't my favourite thing," he writes. "In fact, it's my least favourite part about what I do. The travelling, the lack of sleep, the shit food, the monotonous routines, the new people, my health deteriorates and my mother hates how much I am away from home."

"With that said there's a moment, a moment that I would happily endure all of the above for, a moment that I would do almost anything for. The most present moments in my entire existence happen when I'm on stage."

"I really don't want to overdo this thing that helps me so much. Performance is my saving grace, it's my solace. It's where I am alive," he adds.
