BMW tease new Frank Ocean announcement
Frank Ocean fans have had lots to get excited about so far this year with rumours surfacing that a new album may be on the way. Adding to the ongoing speculation, BMW just posted a cryptic Frank Ocean reference on their Instagram page, setting the internet ablaze with even more theories about the superstar.
With Ocean's headline performance at Coachella 2023 approaching, the car company posted a picture of an Orange BMW referencing the front cover of the singer's 'nostalgia, ULTRA' EP. The car sits stationary next to a Coachella welcome sign and was published with the caption: "The past meets the future this week. As far as what comes next, we'll let you guys prophesy."
Some fans online believe that the car in the image might be used as a prop during Ocean's Coachella performance, while others are suggesting it may mean that 'Nostalgia Ultra' will appear on streaming platforms soon. Some are even suggesting BMW have soft launched an announcement for an entirely new album altogether.
Back in January, a cryptic message was found on the back of posters sold at Ocean's recent merch drop, giving fans hope that a new album is on the way. Then, throughout March, fans believed the artist had been uploading some of his old music onto Spotify through a mysterious account.
Under the user blondead, three Ocean fan favourites from his massive 2010, 70-track compilation ‘The Lonny Breaux Collection’ have been uploaded onto the streaming platform.
Whether or not a new album is around the corner, it's clear the 'Blonded' superstar is just as relevant and influential as ever.
