Mina launches alcohol-free party 'Club Soft' to offer "more choice in dance music"

The response I've had online to this has been really incredible!

Mina is launching a brand new alcohol free party 'Club Soft', aiming to provide an alternative to the boozy culture often surrounding electronic music.

Influenced by her love of afrobeats, dancehall and UK funky, Mina has worked with artists from all around the globe - most notably Bryte. Bonding over their love of music and bringing together international sounds and rhythms, the pair have toured the world together, releasing a number of singles and projects via DMY.

Mina stopped drinking 6 years ago due to health reasons, and since then it's been a dream of hers to create an alcohol-free party. Taking place Sunday June 18 at the Colour Factory Garden, the first event is set to be a scorcher in the summer calendar - the perfect weather to cut some shapes.

Writing about her new party in a Twitter thread, Mina wrote: "I don't have any judgement towards those that drink (plus there are many ways to get lit outside of alcohol) but alcohol-centred spaces are the default in club music, and alcohol just doesn't work for a lot of people, so I wanted to create an alternative space."

She added: "Club Soft is for anyone who loves electronic music but struggles for late nights or drinking culture. It's for anyone who enjoys drinking but just wants a break occasionally, or for anyone who simply wants to dance in the sunshine to great DJs!"

"The response I've had online to this has been really incredible! It seems that there really is a demand for alternative spaces, I hope that this is the start of change towards more choice in dance music, more choice of drinks, and spaces that don't centre alcohol as much."
