Premiere: RL Grime - Reminder (feat. How To Dress Well)
RL Grime – LA DJ/producer and member of the WEDIDIT collective alongside chaps like Shlohmo and Groundislava – is lining up his debut album 'VOID' for release in November. Reminder is one of the first songs to surface from the album and features the vocal talents of Tom Krell, best known as How To Dress Well.
You might be familiar with Reminder from the radio rip that's been doing the rounds recently. A super emotional song, Reminder is actually the first RL Grime tune to feature a guest vocalist, and Krell proves to be compelling in the role (he has a habit of stealing songs that he features on). Says RL Grime of the song: "Reminder is about reminiscing of lost love, understanding what went wrong, and how retrospect allows you to see the bright side of moving on."
The artwork for the single comes from two of the best visual artists operating within the world of underground music right now, David Rudnick and Daniel Swan.
RL Grime is hitting the road with Ryan Hemsworth for a European tour, kicking off in a couple of days. He's also performing at HARD Day of the Dead in LA on November 2nd, curating his own stage featuring (deep breath): Rustie, Cashmere Cat, SOPHIE, Tommy Kruise, Nina Las Vegas, himself, and loads more.
