Record Store Day Unsigned Returns, Offering One UK Artist 500 Free Vinyl Pressings

Record Store Day UK and Breed Media reopen submissions for the competition, with Jess Iszatt, Karen Emanuel and Mark Fulton on the judging panel.

RSD Unsigned is back. Record Store Day UK and Breed Media have announced the return of the competition that gives one unsigned UK artist the chance to have their music pressed onto 500 vinyl records, free of charge.

The pressing will be handled by Breed Media, the manufacturing platform that specialises in supporting emerging artists, and the finished records will be stocked in independent shops across the UK. The winner can also sell copies directly to fans. They'll also walk away with a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 607 S3 bookshelf speakers and a Marantz Stereo 70s amplifier, so there's something to play them on.

Entering is simple. Artists upload original music to YouTube, TikTok or Instagram using the hashtag #RSDUnsigned, then submit the link through Breed Media's submission page. All genres and backgrounds are encouraged, and entries close on 24th November 2026.

The judging panel features BBC Radio 1's Jess Iszatt, Key Production Group founder and CEO Karen Emanuel, and Vinyl Countdown owner Mark Fulton. Iszatt, who has championed new music through BBC Introducing for a decade, recalls having Olivia Dean in the studio in 2019 and watching her sell out multiple O2 shows this year. "I cannot wait to hear what's coming through, and be a small part of the winner's journey," she says. Fulton, a former musician, adds that he knows "how difficult it can be to get your music heard."

Previous winners include Zo Lief, 4 The Brotherhood, Currls, Amy Fitz Doyley, Sister Cookie, Heavy Rapids and Barbudo, who have gone on to radio play, UK-wide tours and festival appearances.
