Romania's UNTOLD Festival announces exciting plans for its eighth chapter
Party-goers across the globe are being invited to the eighth edition of Romania’s UNTOLD festival, taking place in summer 2023. Preparations for next year’s chapter are officially underway and the organisers are expecting hundreds of thousands of music fans to descend on Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania between August 3-6 for the mega event.
Kicking off proceedings with the festival's first major live act announcement, UNTOLD will be bringing Imagine Dragons to Romania for the first time. The Las Vegas-hailing pop rock outfit are one of the world's biggest bands and will include the festival in their 2023 tour, taking the UNTOLD audience for a historic spin through their biggest global hits such as 'Bones', 'Believer' and 'Radioactive'.
Joining Imagine Dragons on the 2023 roster, UNTOLD also shares news that internationally acclaimed DJ Armin Van Buuren will be returning to the Romanian festival. A mainstay at UNTOLD, Van Buuren was present at the festival's very first chapter in 2015 up until the fifth edition in 2019, adding to his magical sets each time to form a special relationship with UNTOLD party-goers. Back in 2023 to the festival he holds so close to his heart, it's shaping up to be a performance to remember.
Across the 4 days and 4 nights of the festival, the creators of the UNTOLD experience will transform the 235,000 square meters of Central Park in Cluj-Napoca into a musical spectacle, with sounds from live acts, EDM shows, techno, tech-house, deep-house, house, trance, hip-hop, pop, drum 'n' bass, trap, dubstep, trip-hop, and many more.
DMY took a trip to Romania earlier this year to attend UNTOLD 2022. "The festival really is an all-sense-tingling experience," we wrote in our review.
"The whole theme of the festival is magic, luna and associated words...once you’re there in person it all makes sense, and you really feel like you’re part of a community of like-minded individuals. It’s fascinating watching the crowd here too. From the amount of people waiting at the opening gates to the amount of screaming fans for every artist."
