Appleblim

Tropical rainstorm blessed Victoria Park as Appleblim stepped on stage, but the bad weather didn’t seem to kill the mood – rather, the poorly lit tent immediately filled up with people. As expected, it was dubstep hats on for Appleblim’s set – he started things off faultlessly, playing an extremely controlled and uplifting set of tech-flavoured dubstep, which is very different to the dark, drum & bass set he played B2B with Pearson Sound at Plastic People awhile back. His polished mixing and the delicate music then took on a new tone, as he dropped a Jimmy Edgar-sounding R&B funk track, followed by Julio Bashmore’s Battle For Middle You. Just like the happy crowd, the smiley producer seemed to be having a swell time himself, as he yelled while stepping off the stage, “This is crazy good, eh?”
