Berlin Atonal adds Roly Porter, Russell Haswell, Lakker and more

Experimental music festival Berlin Atonal festival has added more names to its 2015 programme.

Joining the opening concert on Wednesday August 19th will be the world premiere of a collaboratino between Nine Inch Nails’ Alessandro Cortini and Australian composer/Room40 boss Lawrence English for some "immersive horizontal music". Joining them on the night is another collaboration commissioned by Berlin Atonal, with synthesist Max Loderbauer and Polish experimental artist Jacek Sienkiewicz promising "a masterclass in expertly crafted ambient music". Rounding out the night will be Barbara Morgenstern and her Chor der Kulturen der Welt, who have developed a site specific ‘spatial sound collage’, emphasising the features of the Kraftwerk Berlin venue that the show is taking through unamplified sound.

The closing concert has gained the name of Samuel Kerridge, premiering a project called Fatal Light Attraction which features a newly-devised system of intense lighting, while Modern Love/Touchin' Bass musicians Bitstream reform for a one-off live show.

The Kraftwerk venue will gain a second stage, with Subtext Recordings bringing in Roly Porter, composer/producer John Bence, and Ellen Arkbro.

Powell and Jaime Williams of Diagonal Records will play live alongside Russell Haswell. Former Walls member Not Waving, Blood Music, R&S artist Lakker, Polar Inertia, and Sergie Razza (aka DJ Deep and Roman Poncet) are all scheduled too.

The full club program taking place in Tresor, Globus, and OHM includes Regis, Moritz von Oswald, Sigha, Willie Burns, Mark Verbos, Goth-Trad, DJ TLR, Skee Mask, and more.

Day tickets are available at Berlin Atonal's site, which allow entry into the Kraftwerk complex for the duration of the night's activities, including aftershows. A full lineup breakdown can be found on the website.

Berlin Atonal takes place at Kraftwerk Berlin from August 19th-23rd (tickets).
