George Maple's tour diary
George Maple just wrapped up a North American tour with friends and fellow Australian musicians Flight Facilities, and while she was on the road she compiled a photo gallery and Youtube playlist to show us where her head was at. Having released two tracks full of simmering production and warm vocals – Uphill (which we premiered last year) and Fixed (the video for which we featured a little while ago) – and being on the verge of headlining her first UK show, we sense there are big things in store for this artist in 2013. Hit play on some of her favourite tracks, and dive in to her visual diary in the gallery below.
George Maple: “Hello…George here. I am writing this sitting in a cafe off East 7th Street in New York. The window is iced with fresh snow and I’m on my third espresso, running on 3 hours sleep after an 6am start and flight from Puerto Rico…and realising it’s been two weeks since I’ve had more than an hour free to sit in a coffee shop and chill out – so I’m over the moon! I’ve put together a few of my memories from the past couple of weeks touring America with my friends Flight Facilities…a kind of jumble of snapshots all over the place. It’s been exhilarating, tiring, exciting and although it’s not over yet – I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I have written some new songs inspired by the places and the people I’ve met along the way, and I can’t wait to share them all with you once I’m back in the studio in London….I hope you enjoy the pics and the tunes!”
