Bloom - Quartz

Bloom is a producer from Belfast whose grime instrumentals could’ve slipped through the cracks but were brought to wider attention by south London producer and label boss Mr. Mitch. We should be thankful for this because his first single, Quartz, is an absolute riot – taking early eski-beat era grime and whipping it into a frenzy of sirens, clicks and hollow bass. The sound of grime circa 2003 is a nostalgic joy for many and it clearly is for Bloom too but it’s the total techni-colour push of his re-interpretation that make this one special.

Quartz will be released as a single, with remixes by Starkey and Slackk, on Gobstopper Records on the 3rd of August
